The Jesus Creed

Posted on by Joe

Tonight we started our study of The Jesus Creed for Students by Scot McKnight. We’re asking Junior and Senior High students, as well as adult counselors, to commit to recited the Jesus Creed throughout the month of October:

  1. When you wake up.
  2. When you go to bed.
  3. When you leave your house.
  4. Whenever it comes to mind throughout the day.

The Jesus Creed is:

“Hear O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is One.

Love the Lord your God

with all your heart,

with all your soul,

with all your mind,

and with all your strength.”

The second is this:

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

There is no commandment greater than these.

-Mark 12:29–31

If you want to read ahead and have your own copy of the book, next week’s we’re studying chapters 3 & 4!
