Fundraising Policy

We like to do stuff as a part of {2:42}. The problem is, stuff costs money. The solution? Fund-raising! Over the years we’ve distributed funds a number of ways, and for 2010 we are introducing a new payout structure for the major fund-raisers that we hold during the course of the calendar year. The goals of this structure are three-fold; (1) to better enable students to invite their friends to the stuff we do that might cost money, (2) to foster a spirit of cooperation and giving so that our efforts support one another’s ability to be a part of the stuff we do, and (3) to reward students who make the time and put forth the effort to be a part of our fund-raising events. That being said, unless otherwise noted, the proceeds of our fund-raisers will be divided in the following ways:

  • 33% of the money will be collected and used to cut the cost of first time attenders to events such as ISYC, the camping trip, etc.
  • 33% of the money will be collected into an account and split up among students who attend large events such as IYC and distance missions trips.
  • 34% of the money will be distributed into the youth member accounts of the students who work the event. They will be able to use these funds for whatever events they choose, or they can choose to make their funds available for someone else if they would like.

It is our hope that this structure will encourage students to work fund-raisers in order to raise their own support as well as to help support the involvement of others in the stuff we do.
