What’s your question?
January 14, 2011So it’s been a while, but I’m trying to swing back into the blogging world for the year of 2011. To begin with, let’s start with something light and easy.
Do you ever think about God? See nice and light and easy! Ok, maybe it’s a more complex thing than that, but what I want to know is how much God is on your mind during the course of a day? Is God an afterthought, someone who may come to mind when you’re going to bed or when you can’t find your keys? I have days like that. Days when I’m so consumed with the things that are going on and all I have to get done, that my focus on God is nearly non-exsistent. I pray God forgives me for the days when I forget him.
The question I really want to ask though is,
ISYC 2010
September 22, 2010Ahhh fall. The air turns cooler, the leaves change color, and Indiana State Youth Convention is just around the corner. Early bird registration will be due October 10 along with the first payment for the event of $45.
We will be staying downtown this year and as always, ISYC is open to junior and senior high students.
ISYC will be November 19-21 downtown Indianapolis at the Indianpolis Convention Center. More information to come soon, so keep watching the blog for details.
Fifth Quarter
September 16, 2010September 24th after the Mount Vernon football game until Midnight
September 24th we will be inviting students to take place in our Fifth Quarter Event at the Church. There will be live music by Mount Vernon High School student Joy Mills, a bon-fire, games, and other fun stuff going on all evening long. Admission will be a can of food to be donated to the Fortville Food Pantry plus $2 to help cover the cost of the event. Invite your friends and hopefully we’ll get to celebrate a Mount Vernon win with the community!
Adults: We will need lots of sets of eyes to make sure things go smoothly for the evening as well as help setting up and tearing down.
Talk to Pastor Joe Watkins or Danny DeVault if you are interested in being a part of the event.
Honduras Trip
September 16, 2010We are finalizing the details for our trip to Honduras next summer. If you missed this week’s meeting or have more questions about the trip, please talk to Pastor Joe Watkins as soon as possible so we can get you registered for the trip.
Summer Calendars
June 17, 2010Wow! It’s been a loooooooooong time since I’ve posted anything to the youth site. My apologies to everyone for that. I hope to get better about it in the future – especially as a way to keep you up to date on things.
Mostly I’m posting today to let you know that the summer calendar is available for download on our calendars page, http://242.nlcfonline.com/downloads/calendar. Check it out, download it. Let me know if you have any questions. There are some items that are not on the calendar – especially for Junior High Students – that are still in the works and we’ll let you know when the details are available.
Again, I’m hoping to update stuff more often and do some finishing work on the site really soon. In the meantime I look forward to everything we have going on in the summer and seeing everything that God is doing in the group.
Woo-ha!
Joe
